Features

New Glaston ProL convection technology – opening a new era of structural glazing production

One product increasingly required by the glass market is high-strength structural laminate. Originally, this glass was used in special applications, such as hurricane-resistant glazing or as a replacement for load-bearing structures like pillars in buildings, like in the world-famous Apple Store in New York. But now with ever-increasing product safety demands, high-strength laminates are rapidly becoming popular in traditional applications like railings, too.

Our new, patented ProL Convection Control technology has been developed specifically to increase production capability with structural and high-strength laminates. Until now, glass processors have had to be very precise to achieve good quality with complex laminates while struggling with yield.

With the new ProL Convection Control system, processing these products becomes more like working with standard laminates. In practice, this means glass processors will be able to reach higher capacity and yield with complex laminates.

This ProL Convection Control technology is available for any laminating line brand as an upgrade.

Our aim with this technology is to help glass processors achieve higher capacity and yield while making production much easier for operators. Controlling the system is done completely automatically, so operators do not require any special knowledge to address these cases or change parameters manually.

Glaston CHAMP Evo: An evolution in automotive glass preprocessing

Glaston CHAMP Evo represents the latest evolution of the CHAMP automotive glass preprocessing machine. The newest generation of CHAMP Evo includes two high-precision features in a grinding machine – a state-of-the-art linear drive instead of the spindle and a honeycomb table. The optimized line also features lighter moving parts, such as the cutting bridge, a reduced number of components and many other technological advancements.

This modernization gives CHAMP Evo better controllability, more dynamic movements, higher grind edge quality, shorter cycle times, reduced maintenance needs and even higher precision, among other benefits.

Thanks to the completely independent cutting and grinding systems, CHAMP Evo enables flexible processing of the most complex shapes. Plus, with the stepless cutting approach, the machine fulfills the highest edge quality and accuracy requirements, even with difficult glass forms and thicknesses from 0.5 mm to 8 mm.

CHAMP Evo can be easily configured by the customer. The modular machine has many additional features as options, allowing the line to be customized to fit any business needs. The machine can also be used in other industries outside the automotive industry.

Glass arrissing on highest level with the Glaston MULTI‘ARRISSER

With the new arrissing machine MULTI’ARRISSER Glaston launches a fast and user-friendly solution for high quality glass arrissing. Glaston still excels in the proven cup wheel technology guaranteeing the best arrissing quality at low operating costs. The cup wheels adapt individually to different edge geometries of rectangular and shaped formats.

In general, Glaston’s cup wheel technology has a 5 to 10 times higher lifetime than other systems which leads to a higher productivity. One cup wheel is used for multiple functions: arrissing of the edge, basic edge planing and corner dubbing. An important advantage is the homogeneous and uniformly high edge arrissing quality, especially at the beginning and end of the arrissing process. Especially when processing high-quality low-E glass, the cup wheels do not touch the coated surface during the arrissing process.

Additionally the cup wheels allow a maximum arrissing speed of 60 m/min and makes the MULTI’ARRISSER the fastest single-head machine worldwide. Due to its compact design the MULTI’ARRISSER requires a small footprint. It can be used as stand-alone solution or can be integrated into an I.G. production line while offering a wide range of applications in tempered, laminated or I.G. manufacturing.
